Founded on a Message of Resilience

The United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, one of five U.S. federal service academies, trains officers to serve in U.S. Merchant Marine, branches of the military, and the transportation industry. The academic and regimental instruction is challenging, and when midshipmen return to the academy, they do so via Steamboat Road - the straight 1.3-mile approach to the academy's gates. For all midshipmen, a tremendous feeling of pending adversity sets in from which not all can overcome. But for those that do, Steamboat Road represents the ability to excel in an environment of stress and adversity through hard work, resilience, and teamwork.

In business, as in life, we all face challenges and hardship that create that "Steamboat Road feeling." Some of the most successful organizations even chase that feeling. Steamboat Road Consulting deploys strategy, innovation, and actionable plans to reach our client's objectives. We implement meaningful change and elevate performance through people, process, and technology. If on the journey to operational excellence we find ourselves out of our comfort zone (imposed or deliberate), we'll come through it with hard work, resilience, and teamwork - the Steamboat Road way!
